#CheNews Dramatic days in Valencia.
Amadeo Salvo announced his exit as the executive president:
Out of respect for all, but especially VCF & fans, I must say that I Monday told Lay Hoon that I want to leave
Despite the constantly shaking microphone, Salvo handled the presser as one would expect, which he started by announcing his father’s cancer as a family reason & concluded by ensuring that VCF still are in good hands. VCF do not exist without Valencianistas.
Several key employees in the GloVal project will follow the ex-president out of VCF:
– Board-member Manuel Peris, who earlier was expected to replace Salvo.
– Sporting directors Rufete & Salvans.
– Marketing director Douwens.
– Scouting head Ayala.
– Academy coaches, including goalkeeping coach Luisvi.
This seems to be a blow for especially the academy, but one can only hope that VCF will continue to develop homegrown players but also coaches like Curro Torres & Angulo. We need this sentiment.
Lay-Hoon replaces Salvo as the executive president as well, but she also indicated that VCF are searching for a sporting director to replace Rufete & hence balance Jorge Mendes’ “advises”. Nuno will not get the rumored manager role.
Mustafi has enrolled his child in a local school, meaning that he will stay despite recent interest from Madrid.
Phil Neville will land in Valencia later this week in order to become an assistant to coach Nuno, and he will bring his child Harvey who will transfer from the academy in Manchester City to VCF.
Pay day for Peter Lim on July 1 involved €53.5M, including €20,7M to Bankia, €1M to FundacioVCF, €30M for Álvaro Negredo & €1,8M for Yoel.
Curro Torres has renewed his contract as the Valencia-B coach: Very happy to continue united, VCF. Hope to work hard to keep growing & meeting goals. Amunt.
VCF organizing the 1st ever camp for mentally disabled people in Paterna until July 4.
Álvaro Negredo’s €30M transfer from Manchester City has been realized.
Víctor Ruiz has been sold to Villarreal for €2.7M, with €0.3M in variables, on a contract until 2019.
Rulli will definitely stay in Real Sociedad, so VCF are instead expected to target Lyon goalie Anthony Lopes, who happens to be a Mendes client.
Imbula has transferred form Marseille to Porto for €20M, but it is doubtful whether VCF actually wanted him after Rufete’s departure. With Caio failing the 3 (!) independent medical tests in Valencia, Nuno & Mendes are looking at Casemiro, Witsel & Danilo who also happen to be Mendes clients.
Lastly, Lay-Hoon concluded yerterday’s presser by stating that Otamendi still is worth the €50M release clause, with Manchester City being the biggest suitor after it became known that the player had met their coach Pellegrini in Chile.
Lastly, Penya Chescandinavia would like to thank the outgoing management & especially Amadeo Salvo, who has made it easier to be a Valencianista from distance, but also always has been welcoming in Valencia.
